Recommended storage usually involves a sealed container kept at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. High humidity can cause caking, which changes flow properties and may complicate accurate weighing. Repeated opening of containers exposes the powder to air and moisture, so smaller aliquots can reduce handling effects. Storage temperature ranges are not absolute requirements; they reflect conditions that slow degradation and preserve consistent physical characteristics. Clean, dry tools help prevent contamination during sampling.
Identity and purity are commonly assessed by high-performance liquid chromatography, often with ultraviolet detection, and by spectroscopic techniques such as infrared or nuclear magnetic resonance. These methods can distinguish creatine from creatinine and detect related impurities. Moisture content may be measured by Karl Fischer titration or loss on drying. Particle size, bulk density, and heavy metal limits are additional quality parameters. Not every product is tested by every method, so specifications depend on the intended use and regulatory framework.
Sourcing and verification of creatine monohydrate involve both manufacturing origin and third-party testing. Industrial production commonly starts with sarcosine and cyanamide, followed by crystallization to obtain the monohydrate. Some products are derived from animal sources, while others are synthesized from non-animal precursors. Certificates of analysis report assay, heavy metals, and microbial limits. Regulations differ by country: in the United States it is sold as a dietary supplement, whereas in the European Union it falls under food supplement rules.
In solid form, creatine monohydrate is relatively stable when kept dry and away from heat. Moisture and elevated temperatures promote cyclization into creatinine, a related compound with no role in the phosphagen system. Degradation accelerates in aqueous solution, where the conversion can occur within hours to days depending on pH and temperature. Manufacturers typically recommend storage in sealed containers at room temperature, with relative humidity below 50 percent. Long-term stability data for opened containers are limited.
| Property | Value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Typical storage temperature | 15–25 °C | Cool, dry, sealed conditions slow conversion to creatinine. |
| Moisture sensitivity | Moderate | Absorbs water from humid air, which can cause caking. |
| Primary purity method | HPLC-UV | Separates creatine from creatinine and related impurities. |
| Moisture method | Karl Fischer titration | Measures water content; loss on drying is an alternative. |
| Degradation product | Creatinine | Forms by dehydration, especially in solution or humid heat. |
Stability studies typically examine the effects of temperature, humidity, and light on creatine monohydrate. Sealed containers stored in cool, dry conditions help limit moisture uptake and hydrolysis. Elevated temperature and high relative humidity can accelerate conversion to creatinine, especially in aqueous solutions. In solid dosage forms, excipients and processing steps may also affect stability. Published stability data are not fully consistent across studies because test conditions and analytical methods vary.
Quality control of creatine monohydrate relies on a combination of identity, purity, and moisture tests. High-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection is widely used to separate creatine from creatinine and other related nitrogenous compounds. Spectroscopic methods such as infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance provide structural confirmation. Because the material is a hydrate, water content is measured separately, often by Karl Fischer titration. These tests together establish whether a lot meets a defined specification.
In chemical terms, creatine monohydrate is often described as N-(aminoiminomethyl)-N-methylglycine monohydrate, though nomenclature varies. Its solid state consists of zwitterionic creatine molecules linked with water through hydrogen bonding. The compound dissolves in water, but dissolution rate depends on particle size, temperature, and agitation. Once dissolved, the hydrate water becomes part of the solvent, leaving free creatine in solution. The monohydrate is not the same as creatine anhydrous, which lacks the water of crystallization and has a higher creatine fraction by mass.
Commercial creatine monohydrate is typically a white to off-white powder with low odor. It is commonly sold as a fine powder, micronized powder, or larger crystals, but these are physical forms of the same chemical. Purity grades vary, and products may contain small amounts of related substances such as creatinine, dicyandiamide, or moisture. The monohydrate is often selected for supplements and research because its production is well established and its behavior in water is predictable. Analytical certificates usually report assay, loss on drying, and heavy metals.
Creatine monohydrate is a crystalline compound formed from creatine and one water molecule in its solid lattice. Creatine itself is a nitrogen-containing organic acid involved in energy transfer in muscle and other tissues. The monohydrate form is the most common solid form used in research and commercial products because it is stable and easy to handle. The term "monohydrate" refers to the fixed one-to-one ratio of water to creatine in the crystal, not to moisture content. This distinction matters when comparing labels or calculating creatine content.
Storage recommendations generally emphasize a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong oxidizers. Sealed containers limit humidity exchange, which helps prevent clumping and gradual conversion to creatinine. Long-term stability studies usually monitor appearance, moisture, and purity at intervals under defined temperature and humidity conditions. Accelerated tests at elevated temperature can reveal degradation pathways, but they do not perfectly predict room-temperature shelf life. Questions remain about how much creatinine formation is acceptable in different product categories and how packaging choices affect that rate over time.
Commercial creatine monohydrate is typically manufactured through chemical synthesis, often starting from sarcosine and cyanamide. The resulting material is crystallized, washed, and dried to a specified hydrate content. Finished lots are tested for identity, purity, moisture, and heavy metals before release. Because the compound can cyclize to creatinine under heat or prolonged storage in solution, manufacturers control temperature and humidity during processing. The solid itself is relatively stable when kept dry and sealed, but moisture uptake can cause caking and complicate accurate assay.
In 1976, a Roy Rogers in Fairfax, Virginia, was robbed, where five employees were herded into the restaurant's freezer and shot in the head. Only one survived. On August 30, 1977, Roy Rogers was struck by a cottage cheese pie thrown by a 17 year old while Rogers and his Sons of the Pioneers singers were performing at a Fairfax restaurant. The youth pleaded guilty a month later and was fined $100. In 1982, Marriott bought the Gino's restaurant chain for $48.6 million. The company converted 180 of the 313 restaurants to Roy Rogers to expand in the Baltimore/Washington area. Also in 1982, Marriott sued the Riese family, a franchisee, when they discovered the Rieses were planning to relocate a Roy Rogers restaurant with a Häagen Dazs and a Pizza Hut in Times Square. The Riese family won the suit, and the Riese Organization later developed other food courts in New York City.
In October, the special was revealed to be Marvel 75 Years: From Pulp to Pop!, which was hosted by Emily VanCamp, who portrays Agent 13 in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and aired on November 4, 2014. The special features behind the scenes footage from Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man, as well as footage from the Agent Carter television series previously screened at New York Comic Con. Brian Lowry of Variety felt an hour for the special did not "do the topic justice" adding, "For anyone who has seen more than one Marvel movie but would shrug perplexedly at the mention of Jack Kirby or Steve Ditko, Marvel 75 Years: From Pulp To Pop! should probably be required viewing. Fun, fast-paced and encompassing many of the company's highlights along with a few lowlights, it's a solid primer on Marvel's history, while weaving in inevitable self-promotion and synergistic plugs." Eric Goldman of IGN also wished the special had been longer, adding, "Understandably, the more you already know about Marvel, the less you'll be surprised by Marvel 75 Years: From Pulp to Pop!, but it's important to remember who this special is really made for – a mainstream audience who have embraced the Marvel characters, via the hugely successful movies, in a way no one could have imagined." The special Marvel Studios: Expanding the Universe was released on Disney+ on November 12, 2019. It features a look at the original MCU TV series for Disney+, with interviews and concept art.
== Caesium-134 == Caesium-134 has a half-life of 2.0650 years. It is produced both directly (at a very small yield because 134Xe is stable) as a fission product and via neutron capture from nonradioactive 133Cs (neutron capture cross section 29 barns), which is a common fission product. It is not produced by nuclear weapons because 133Cs is created by beta decay of original fission products long after the nuclear explosion is over. The combined yield of 133Cs and 134Cs is given as 6.7896%. The proportion between the two will change with continued neutron irradiation. 134Cs also captures neutrons with a cross section of 140 barns, becoming long-lived radioactive 135Cs. Caesium-134 undergoes beta decay (β−), producing stable 134Ba after emitting on average 2.23 gamma ray photons (mean energy 0.698 MeV).
Former Conservative Party minister Penny Mordaunt is to take up a role with British American Tobacco, as part of their Transformation Advisory Board. Having previously ruled out an electoral pact with Reform at a national level, when asked by BBC News if the same applies at a local level in relation to the upcoming council elections, Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch says that local leaders of her party "would be free to share power" with other parties to keep councils running. Asked a similar question later, Nigel Farage, leader of Reform UK, appears to reject the idea although he does say that there could be "working relationships" with other parties. 11 April – Publication of Rishi Sunak's Resignation Honours. The constant invocation of the wound man in surgical treatises for over 300 years shows the capacity of this image instantly to bring the reader into the gruesome yet serious space of the surgical professional. But it also speaks to the ability of the wound man to capture the attention of any reader who stumbled across him. As his recent reappearance in the NBC TV series Hannibal suggests, the morbid wonder he encapsulates still holds true for viewers today. Wound Man is referenced in season 1, episode 6 and season 2, episode 7, of Hannibal, which is based on the novels Red Dragon and Hannibal – which also reference Wound Man. The Royal College of Emergency Medicine uses a Wound Man as a supporter in its heraldic achievement.

There was now a renewal of agitation for a more democratic constitution, and the German Reichstag gave some countenance to this movement. In 1904 Adolphus Frederick V became grand duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. In 1907, the grand duke promised a constitution to the duchy's subjects, but this was met with opposition from the nobility.
The analytes are in the vapor phase. This includes breath, odors, VOCs, and other molecules with low volatility that, due to the constant improvements in sensitivity, are detectable in the vapor phase despite their low vapor pressure. Analyte ions are produced via gas-phase chemical reactions, where charging agents collide with the analyte molecules and transfer their charge. In secondary electro-spray ionization (SESI), a nano-electrospray operated at high temperature produces nanodroplets that evaporate very rapidly to produce ions and protonated water clusters that ionize the vapors of interest. SESI is commonly used for the analysis of trace concentrations of vapors being able to detect low volatility species in the gas phase with molecular masses of up to 700 Da.
They also stressed that the TWG had given too much credence to the chemistry experiments performed by the Russians, considered the TWG's retrospective treatment of the Russian work based on unpublished documents to have been "highly irregular", noted that there was no proof that 259Rf had a spontaneous fission branch at all (as of 2021 there still is not), and accused the TWG of not having appropriately qualified personnel on the committee. The TWG responded by saying that this was not the case and having assessed each point raised by the American group said that they found no reason to alter their conclusion regarding priority of discovery. The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) adopted unnilquadium (Unq) as a temporary, systematic element name, derived from the Latin names for digits 1, 0, and 4. In 1994, IUPAC suggested a set of names for elements 104 through 109, in which dubnium (Db) became element 104 and rutherfordium became element 106. This recommendation was criticized by the American scientists for several reasons. Firstly, their suggestions were scrambled: the names rutherfordium and hahnium, originally suggested by Berkeley for elements 104 and 105, were respectively reassigned to elements 106 and 108. Secondly, elements 104 and 105 were given names favored by JINR, despite earlier recognition of LBL as an equal co-discoverer for both of them.
== Stereocenters == Taxifolin has two stereocenters on the C-ring, as opposed to quercetin which has none. For example, (+)-taxifolin has (2R,3R)-configuration, making it one out of four stereoisomers that comprise two pairs of enantiomers.

Somalia borders Djibouti to the northwest, Ethiopia to the west, the Gulf of Aden to the north, the Somali Sea and Guardafui Channel to the east, and Kenya to the southwest. With a land area of 637,657 square kilometres, Somalia's terrain consists mainly of plateaus, plains and highlands. Its coastline is more than 3,333 kilometres in length, the longest of mainland Africa. Its maritime claims include territorial waters of 200 nautical miles (370 km; 230 mi). Somalia has several islands and archipelagos on its coast, including the Bajuni Islands and the Saad ad-Din Archipelago. Strategically located at the mouth of the Bab el Mandeb gateway to the Red Sea and the Suez Canal, the country occupies the tip of a region that, due to its resemblance on the map to a rhinoceros' horn, is commonly referred to as the Horn of Africa. In the far north, the rugged east–west ranges of the Ogo Mountains lie at varying distances from the Gulf of Aden coast. Hot conditions prevail year-round, along with periodic monsoon winds and irregular rainfall. Geology suggests the presence of valuable mineral deposits. Somalia is separated from Seychelles by the Somali Sea and is separated from Socotra by the Guardafui Channel. Somalia contains seven terrestrial ecoregions: Ethiopian montane forests, Northern Zanzibar–Inhambane coastal forest mosaic, Somali Acacia–Commiphora bushlands and thickets, Ethiopian xeric grasslands and shrublands, Hobyo grasslands and shrublands, Somali montane xeric woodlands, and East African mangroves.
=== Constrained risk-taking === Psychologist Paul Rozin suggests that eating ordinary chilies is an example of a "constrained risk" like riding a roller coaster, in which extreme sensations like pain and fear can be enjoyed because individuals know that these sensations are not actually harmful. This method lets people experience extreme feelings without any significant risk of bodily harm.

Alexander first came to Yugoslavia in 1991. He actively worked with the opposition to Slobodan Milošević and moved to Yugoslavia after Milošević had been deposed in 2000. On 27 February 2001, the parliament of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) passed legislation conferring citizenship on members of the Karađorđević family. The legislation may also have effectively annulled a decree stripping the family of its citizenship of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY) in 1947. The annulment was the topic of some debate. Notably, the FRY was not the successor of the SFRY; rather the FRY was a new state (and was admitted to the United Nations as a new state on that basis). Therefore, the jurisdiction of a new state to annul an action of a different former state was questioned. In effect, the Karađorđević family had FRY citizenship conferred upon them, not "restored" as such. The FRY legislation also addresses restoration of property to the Karađorđević family. In March 2001, the property seized from his family, including royal palaces, was returned for residential purposes with property ownership to be decided by parliament at some later date. He has lived since 17 July 2001 in the Royal Palace (Kraljevski Dvor) in Dedinje, an exclusive area of Belgrade. The Palace, which was completed in 1929, is one of two royal residences in the Royal Compound; the other is the White Palace, which was completed in 1936.

Solid product can remain within specification for years when stored dry and sealed, but expiration dates reflect manufacturer testing and regulatory conventions. Moisture and heat increase conversion to creatinine, so storage conditions matter more than the printed date alone. Degradation is gradual and can be monitored by purity testing.
Purity is typically evaluated by chromatographic separation with ultraviolet detection, sometimes supported by spectroscopic identity tests. Moisture and creatinine content are common quality parameters. Results depend on the analytical method, sample preparation, and specification limits.
Clumping occurs when powder absorbs moisture, causing particles to stick together. Humidity, temperature changes, and repeated container opening promote this effect. Clumps do not necessarily indicate chemical degradation, but they can affect weighing and mixing.
Yes, especially when exposed to moisture or heat, where it converts to creatinine. In dry, sealed containers at room temperature, degradation is slow and the product may remain within specification for two to three years.
